Good architecture is rooted in place and setting, made with honesty of craft and materials.
There is a way of doing things: the honouring of what came before, with a high standard of workmanship, applied in a traditional or a contemporary context.
Our process starts with that in mind.

The practice
The practice draws inspiration from the rich history of English architecture and its links with the surrounding landscape. We combine that inspiration with a genuine appreciation for self-sustainability in a modern context. We simplify the material palette, to present a building that is not ostentatious but is grounded, celebrating the way it is made.
Planning · Building regulations · Construction
Planning
Householder applications, listed building consent and pre-application advice, prepared and submitted to the relevant local authority.
Building regulations
Technical drawings and specifications for building control approval, covering structure, insulation, fire and ventilation, with structural engineers and other consultants coordinated as needed.
Construction
Tender packages, contractor appointment and contract administration, with site inspections and valuations through to practical completion.
Why this practice

High standard of workmanship
Bryan-Rawle Architects is proudly RIBA Chartered, committing itself to a higher standard of practice. Chartership engages the practice in a broader range of continual professional development, ensuring we remain at the forefront of an ever-evolving industry.
Chartered status is not a badge held once. It is assessed against RIBA criteria and renewed every year, covering professional indemnity insurance, quality management, and a written complaints procedure. Behind that sits a formal annual programme of continual professional development, spanning conservation and heritage, sustainable design and the Building Safety Act.
Embracing technology
Even though we are inspired by the past, we look to utilise new and emerging technologies. Every project is modelled rather than drawn, which allows a more thorough understanding of the proposal and better coordination of sub-consultants’ information, improving the overall result.
Personal service
As a micro practice, the same person will be with you from the first meeting until our services end. We are honest about the work we have undertaken, we do not sub-consult, and we admit the limits of our knowledge and skill. We will share in your journey through its joys and its challenges, and we aim to look back on the project over a beer or a glass of wine with a sense of pride in what we have achieved together.
